The Constructed of Palestinian Modern Cities

A Palestinian company on Wednesday unveiled unprecedented plans to build a brand new Arab town costing $200 million to house 25,000 people in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Bayti Real Estate Development Company, chaired by tycoon Bashar Masri, said it would build 4,000 affordable homes on Palestinian-controlled land an easy commute north of the West Bank political capital of Ramallah.

The announcement coincided with the start of formal Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations following a seven-year freeze after both sides agreed in a US conference last month to work towards a peace deal by the end of 2008.
