Qatari Diar Real-Estate Investment Company launches its first project in Sudan - Al-Difaf

This event came following the successful launch of Qatari Diar's Al-Houara project in Morocco last May, and the prestigious launch of St. Regis Cairo in December, and prior to the release of Qatari Diar's stunning new tourism-focused development in Syria.

The Al-Difaf launch ceremony commenced with an opening speech by HE Governor of Khartoum Mr. Abdul-Halim Ismail Al Mota'afy. This was followed by a short speech by HE Minister of Tourism and Wildlife in Sudan Mr. Joseph Malual, and a final speech by Qatari Diar CEO Mr. Nasser Al Ansari. Moreover, before dinner, an introductory film on Al-Difaf was shown introducing the guests to the various touristic and residential elements of the project. Finally, the sale of the first residential tower was announced, well-received and is expected to be sold-out.

This project is intended to be one of Khartoum's most distinguished developments. Stretching over 206,500 square meters by the Nile, Al-Difaf will make a significant contribution to helping the Sudanese fulfill their dream of bringing more commerce and tourism to their country.

Al-Difaf is a mixed use development comprising of offices, residential, and retail elements in addition to an impressive five-star hotel. The residential area endows families with the best and safest environment amongst lavish green gardens, parks and playgrounds. Moreover, the retail area of Al-Difaf offers the most renowned brand names of shops, cafes, boutiques and restaurants, turning the dream of great living into reality.

In addition, the location of this project overlooks the junction of the two Niles, making it one of the most prime locations across the capital. Also, Al-Difaf is within proximity to bridges linking it to other parts of the tri-capital and is less than 15 minutes away from the international airport of Khartoum.

Mr. Al-Ansari noted that 'the importance of Sudan is clear, it is the largest and one of the most diverse countries in Africa; home to deserts, mountain ranges and rain forests. It has large areas of cultivatable land as well as gold and cotton,' he continued 'our vision for Sudan ensures a better tomorrow, a future to which Qatari Diar wishes to contribute to. We are planning a development in Khartoum; residential towers on the Nile in one of the best locations- Hallat Hamad- that will not only stand as a unique landmark but will also offer a different style of living to the Sudanese people.'

Mr. Al-Ansari concluded saying, 'at Qatari Diar, we believe in developing projects that contribute to the economies of the countries we work in, in utilizing local resources that ensure maximum benefit to the people and develop their future.'
